These photographs were taken at Duxford Air Shows in September 2002 and July 2003, which explains the different weather conditions. The military aircraft are maintained by the Imperial War Museum and the Civil Aircraft, like many in Hangar 1, by the Duxford Aviation Society, who do an excellent job maintaining an impressive collection. It is possible - for a small fee - to go inside some of these aircraft.

In addition, there are a number of fascinating exhibits worth viewing. The Artillery Gun was originally part of the wartime defenses at Gibraltar and the Würzburg Radar formed part of the German defensive systems in World War 2. The V1, unlike the example in Hangar 4, is a replica but the launching ramp is original - it was restored at Duxford in the 1980's and is a composite of serveral ramps brought over to England for assessment after the end of World War 2.
